Father's Day weekend was our second baby shower with my family, family friends, MIL and her girlfriends. It was great timing with family in town for the Father's Day and the turnout was a lot! So fun to see family and friends that I don't get to see often!
My mom and aunts hosted the shower and had it in one of the party rooms at our church so we had enough room. My aunt had a great idea for the invitations, and I was totally willing to participate! Here was the picture on the front of the invites:
We played a few games, one where they had a rack with a bunch of baby items hanging on it that was visible to everyone at the party during social hour and while we ate, but of course not many noticed it as they were too busy chatting and catching up. So when the game started, the rack was covered and we had to list out everything that was on the rack. Tough one! The other game was guessing my girth in inches..haha. The one closest to 45.5 inches won! (yep, that was my official girth at the time!)
My step-grandmother made a super cute fruit bowl out of a watermelon. I didn't even ask her how long it took but it was adorable!
She is on the right and my other grandmother is on the left. I am blessed to have them in my lives and they are SO excited to be great-grandmothers!
And then it was time to open gifts. I cannot believe how spoiled this baby is! I have so many talented people in my family and received four hand-made blankets, some hats, a cuddle sac (which you'll see in future baby pics) and an adorable sweater my aunt made.
The best gift was saved for last..and it brought tears to my eyes. My grandfather is a woodworker and made a highchair for Baby Barrett. However, this highchair also can be turned on it's side and used as a rocker and also the other side can be used as a desk! (I don't have a picture of the desk) He signed his name on the inside "Grandpa Elton" and will be cherished for years and generations to come.
Thank you for hosting a great shower!!
And my Mother-in-Law who also helped with the shower, SO lucky to have her in my life!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the photo! That belly is perfect!
ReplyDeleteIll be honest Im slightly jealous of your highchair! What an amazing gift that will keep giving for generations to come! :)
